Dreaming of a destination wedding at Lake Tahoe? Planning a wedding in Northern Nevada involves many moving parts, especially if you're considering a private estate as your venue.

In addition to securing the property and coordinating all the details that come with hosting an event at a private residence, transportation logistics should be a top priority. Since most private estates are located within residential neighborhoods, it's important to ensure guests do not block driveways or roadways. Providing transportation also helps guests avoid navigating Lake Tahoe’s winding roads after an evening of celebrating.

If you anticipate that 150 guests will need shuttle service, plan accordingly from the start. It is far easier to reduce transportation needs later than it is to secure additional shuttles at the last minute.

While online maps may provide estimated travel times between locations, those estimates are based on standard passenger vehicles. Shuttles carrying 30 or more guests typically travel more slowly on Tahoe’s curving roads, and additional time is needed for loading and unloading passengers. As a result, transportation schedules often require more time than expected.

When it comes to wedding transportation, there are many factors to consider. It’s not simply a matter of booking a shuttle and checking it off the list. Thoughtful planning ensures a smooth, safe, and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
